The roots are most likely still there and able to come back in about 2 monrhs or so. Maybe 3 or 4 if you're lucky. So its not safe right now. To make it safer, what you need to do is use a treatment that soaks in through the skin of the wart and attacks it at the base, which will remove the root, and finally the wart itself.
