What Percentage Of People With Throat Cancer Also Have High Risk Hpv?
I was told that HPV can cause throat cancer, so i am curious, because i have high risk hpv and i want to know how worried i should be about throat cancer. thanks to whoever knows the answer.

HPV 16, one of two HPV strains that cause 70% of cervical cancers and 90% of head and neck cancers that are HPV-positive, was found in 72% of the oropharyngeal tumors. Evidence of prior HPV 16 exposure, in the form of antibodies to the virus, was also strongly linked to oropharyngeal cancer.
Found this on WebMD. I have HPV. the Strain that causes Cervical cancer. I feel that little is known about this aggressive virus. But from what they are learning..the strains that cause cancer are imfamous for 3 main types of cancer.. Cervical, Throat and neck. More is being learned as we speak. Who knows waht else this virus will be connected to…but the more we know the more we grow.
