When Can I Have Sex Without Condom After I Get Hpv Vaccine — Gardasil?
My boyfriend wants me to get HPV vaccine — GARDASIL before we can have sex without condom, because he is not sure whether he has HPV. GARDASIL is given as 3 injections over 6 months. I got first in July and second in Sept and waiting for Jan to get third. I wonder after first and second shoots, does my body have antibody level? What is the vaccine effective time? Can I do antibody level test? Can I have sex without condom now?

first of all, gardasil only protects against about four strains of HPV and there are hundreds of different strains out there…it is very hard to detect HPV, let alone which strain, a boy carries. This vaccine is relatively new and some problems have already risen regarding it. I would not trust it so much. pLus HIV is a much bigger concern, among numerous other STDs you can contract with unprotected sex. I would not do it.
I’ll sum this up in one word…NEVER.
Do you really think HPV is all that is out there? You sound pretty ignorant when it comes to STDs. Also, you should know that Gardisil will NOT fully protect you…NO vaccine is 100% effective.
You are taking serious risks with your health if you are not using condoms.
Once you are in a monogamous, faithful relationship and you and your partner have both tested negative for ALL STDs, then you can think about not using condoms. I certainly hope you are using some form of birth control.

you must have all 3 shots to be ammune to it so definitly wait… and be careful cause you can still catch hpv even while having protected sex

I am not aware of any antibody testing that has been approved for use.
The vaccine does not provide protection against all HPV types and if you have already had sex you may have already acquire an HPV type. The vaccine provides protection against two high risk HPV types 16 and 18 and two low risk HPV types.
You need all three vaccines to provide the protection from the 4 HPV types it prevents. You can still acquire HPV even with the use of a condom
