First of all, do not be afraid. What has your MD said to you? Did you have a colposcopy and DNA testing to see which types of HPV you are carrying?
When the colposcopy is done, they put an acidic preparation on your cervix and if there are any lesions on your cervix, they will then biopsy those areas.
As long as you do your follow up appts as they are set by your MD (usually every six months for three years until they are all clear for a period of time), you should be fine.
I hope this helps to calm your fears a bit!!!! :)

Just keep following up with your doctor. My mom was diagnosed with HPV when she had my little sister who is now 17. She has had precancerous cells removed but they did not form til my sister was around 8. My mother had another child after her diagnosis also. Shes now had hpv for awhile and other then occasionally them finding some precancerous cells shes been fine. Just keep following up with your doctor. Im unfortunately too old to get the HPV vaccine or else I would have gotten it but I know my sister has received it.

ur doctor should schedule for a colposcopy which is a in office procedure and depending on what he see he might need to take a biopsy. In a few weeks you’ll need to have a cryo surgery to freeze ur cervix. just follow up with any appts ur doctor schedules for u and u will be ok. good luck.

I remember first learning the diagnosis of HPV back in 1999. Internet information was not quite as good and I was scared. I was 49 at that time. My lesions were 2 and 3…at that time cervical lesions were graded mostly as CIN 1, 2 and 3 mild 1 moderate 2 and severe 3,. Mostly now our medical profession just uses the terms low grade and high grade intraepithelial lesions. Health care professionals will usually recommend treatments for a high grade lesion.
Low grade squamos intraepithelial lesions will regress 80 to 90% of the time for the most part they are slow growing. Many times a doctor will just choose to watch these lesions. Sometimes they do stay around for a while…but often they will regress in a year or so. Glandular lesions are the lesions that can progress faster.
It is common to be scare when we are facing the unknown…an when we need more information regarding what is going on in our body. My first advice is to trust your physician…an if you don’t find one that you do…an second is to learn more about the virus. Your doctor will monitor your cervix…if the virus does progress he will recommend a treatment that will remove the cell changes. You also need to be able to talk with your doctor…let him know your fears.
For now learn more about the virus and know that you do play a part in your health. Do little thinks that will help your virus regress. Eat a balanced diet 5 or more servings of fruits and veggies…get good sleep, Getting good sleep is not always easy when we are stressed and with our all the demands of a hectic life…but sleep is important our bodies cells heal in stage four sleep…condoms may help the virus regress and condoms may help in the healing of the virus…but since you have probably been in a relationship for some time…you and your hubby share your HPV type…it is your body’s immune system that is causing the virus to replicate..you probably acquire your virus many years ago. Most of the time the virus will regress…but sometimes stress or illness even pregnancy can cause the virus to reactive. Exercise; take a multivitamin an limit alcohol.
Doing these simple life style changes may help in the depression…if they don’t ask your doctor for help. Depression is never good for our body.
Find a place where you can vent.. some on line groups can help here.
If you have not seen this website in your own research…I hope you will read it…it contains so much good information.

    I wish you well.
I was diagnosed in 1999 I have had two LEEP’s and one excision. I know that knowledge gives me power.
